Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was born in Minsk. Sergey was a player in the hockey league. Aryna Sabalenka is a Belarusian born on 5th May 1998. Aryna is the holder of 12 WTA Singles titles, one of which was named 'Grand Slam' in the Australian Open 2023. As a doubles specialist she has also won both the US Open of 2019 as and her first Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. She also achieved an incredible Sunshine Double in 2019, taking in the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open alongside Elise Mertens. This feat was only achieved by four couples in singles for women. On 23 August 2021 she was ranked second in the singles world ranking her highest ranking was again reached in January 2023. But in doubles, she moved up to number one after her victory in Melbourne that same year. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) coached her for part of the season in 2019 as well as from the year 2018 until close of the season. There was a brief collaboration with Dieter Kindlmann between August and September of 2020. Antonio Dubrov has been her coach since 2020. Her heroes include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
